Attention all citizen-voters! Just a reminder that the partisan primary election that determines which candidates each political party will place on the November ballot is being held today from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Remember that a voter ID is required, voters may only vote for candidates of one party and please leave political items at home. Get the kids cooking spring rolls! Join Chef Instructor Lily Kilfoy, on Wednesday, August 10th from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Alicia Ashman Library, 733 High Point Road,as she helps kiddoes from ages 6 to 11 get cooking by introducing them to delectable dishes. Kids will have a hands-on fun time preparing a variety of fillings to create their own spring rolls using authentic rice paper wrappers. Dishes will be vegetarian, nut and gluten free. W-O-R-T has three volunteer receptionist openings. Open slots include alternate Mondays from 2 to 4 p.m., every Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m and every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. We’re also recruiting fill-in receptionists for weekday hours between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. A welcoming spirit, plus good phone and message taking skills are essential.
