Free one-on-one coaching sessions for writing projects of any kind are available today from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Goodman Library, 2222 South Park Street. Writing projects can include resumes and cover letters, school assignments, personal letters, applications, forms, newsletters, articles or any other kind of writing. Basic computer help, such as setting up email accounts, searching for jobs online, or filling out online job applications, is also available.
Appointments for the 45-minute coaching sessions can be made today starting at 10 a.m. Call 608-266-6395.
A free presentation addressing “The Migration-Craze: Migrants, Refugees, and Muslims in the Public Eye” is offered today at 4 p.m. by Naika Foroutan, Professor of Social Sciences at the Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. She specializes in integration and migration research with a focus on countries of immigration. The presentation will be held in the UW’s Helen White Building, 600 North Park Street. Decluttering your home? The Literacy Network is collecting used books to re-sell to raise funds to support its classes and tutors and provide textbooks for free adult literacy programs. Donated books can be dropped off at the Literacy Network office, 701 Dane Street, preferably between
9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Contact 608-244-3911 for guidelines on the types of materials that can be accepted.
