Need to build computer skills and improve your reading, writing and overall communication capabilities to help with job searches? There’s a class just for you starting tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Library, 2707 East Washington. Participants will create an individual lesson plan and work through class sessions to successfully complete the plan. W-O-R-T has three volunteer receptionist openings. Open slots include alternate Mondays from 2 to 4 p.m., every Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m and every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. We’re also recruiting fill-in receptionists for weekday hours between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. A welcoming spirit, plus good phone and message taking skills are essential. Clean Sweep Hazardous Waste Site is open year-round at the county landfill. Operating Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Also, Saturdays from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Clean Sweep is closed Sunday, Monday and Holidays. There is a fee per drop-off.
