Calling all current and future backyard chicken owners. The Dane County UW-Extension and local business partners are hosting a free Backyard Chickens Community Event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 8th at the Badger Rock Neighborhood Center, 501 East Badger Road. The event will feature live chickens and presentations on choosing the right breed, disease prevention, food handling and cooking safety. The long-awaited Madison Public Market is moving forward. To ensure that the Public Market fulfills its mission of cultivating diverse entrepreneurship, the City will be launching the “MarketReady” Training Program to provide training, technical assistance and a small grant program to help potential public market startup businesses.
