A talk on “Addressing Seriously the Environmental Crisis: A Bold, ‘Outside the Box’ Proposal to Address Climate Change” by Purdue University/Northwest Professor Kim Scipes is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Central Library, 201 West Mifflin Street. The West Side Garden Club will hold a plant sale on Friday, May 12th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, May 13th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3918 Nakoma Road. Perennials, specialty annuals and herbs, along with advice from experienced gardeners will be available. Proceeds support local public gardens and nature preserves, including the Allen Centennial Garden, the Lakeshore Nature Preserve and the Aldo Leopold Nature Center. For information, phone 233-2637.
