The West Madison Senior Coalition will offer a free lunch for those 60 and over at noon on Thursday, May 25th, at the Meadowridge Library, 5726 Raymond Road. The suggested minimum donation is $4.00, but not required. Transportation is available with an additional $1.00 donation. Meal and bus reservations should be made today by calling 238-0196.
The Madison Police Department is hosting “The Good Neighbor Night” tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Department’s Training Facility, 5702 Femrite Drive. Come learn about successful neighborhood programs ranging from building community gardens and organizing clean-up days to planning block parties. “The Good Neighbor Night” is about partnering with the Madison Police Department to increase community engagement. Need help connecting with social services or getting questions answered? Laurie Meulemans, a Community Social Worker with Joining Forces for Families is available to help with problem solving, advocacy and connecting to services on Thursday, May 25th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pinney Library, 204 Cottage Grove Road. Mighty volunteers are needed to answer phones during W-O-R-T’s Summer Pledge Drive from June 7th through the 14th. One, two and three hour shifts, daytime and evenings, are available.
