This is the Insurgent Radio Kiosk for Thursday, June 1st
It’s today’s Action Calendar!

A free concert featuring “The Whiskey Farm” is scheduled for tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Olin Park Pavilion, 1156 Olin-Turville Court at the historic Olin Park Pavilion. The concert is family-friendly and picnicking is encouraged. The concerts will go on rain or shine, since the pavilion is enclosed.

Forward 2017, an annual social justice summit of community activists, students, and educators, will run from Friday, June 2nd to Saturday, June 3rd at Edgewood College, 1000 Edgewood College Drive. This year’s theme is “ Where Do We Go From Here? Understanding the Current Crisis and Building Social Justice in the Midwest”. The summit is hosted by the UW’s Havens Center for Social justice. Mighty volunteers are needed to answer phones during W-O-R-T’s Summer Pledge Drive from June 7th through the 14th. One, two and three hour shifts, daytime and evenings, are available during the week and on the weekends. Signup is easy at the WORT website- wortfm.org. Email questions to volunteer@wortfm.org or call 256-2001 during business hours and ask for Glenn. Your time and good energy is greatly appreciated.

Evening Meals on Wheels needs volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious low-cost meals to older and differently abled people. Locations are flexible and the time commitment is about one hour per shift. For details call 276-7598.
