The Goodman Library has partnered with Lifeline Management Systems to offer free cell phones to income eligible individuals. Interested parties should bring a Wisconsin drivers license or state identification card to the Goodman Library, 2222 South Park Street, today from between 1 and 3 p.m. For more information please call 608- 239-6982.
“In Nobody’s Pocket But Yours” says it all as the theme for WORT’s fall pledge drive starting Monday, September 19th. It’s your chance to support the station by pitching in to answer phones and connect with pledge donors. Volunteers are needed to cover 2 and 3 hour shifts in this vital and fun role. Clean Sweep Hazardous Waste Site is open year-round at the county landfill and operates Tuesdays through Fridays from 7am to 2:45pm, and Saturdays from 8 to 10:45am. Clean Sweep will be closed Sundays, Mondays and Holidays. There is a fee per drop-off. Clean Sweep is located at 7102 US Highway 12. More info at danecountycleansweep.com.
Books to Prisoners is a non-profit organization sponsored by Rainbow Bookstore that sends books to prisoners in Wisconsin and other states. They accept donations. More details at 608- 257-6050.
