It’s today’s Action Calendar!

The Madison-Area Urban Ministry’s Journey Home Program offers a free Re-Entry Service Fair today from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for those re-entering the community after being incarcerated. Today’s fair will focus on housing and employment opportunities. Refreshments provided. The fair will be held at the Madison-Area Urban Ministry offices at 2115 South Park Street. Peter and Lou Berryman offer a free concert tonight at 7 p.m. at Olbrich Gardens, 3330 Atwood Avenue. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, pack a picnic or purchase hotdogs and brats at the Gardens from the Madison East Kiwanis. For information, phone 246-4718.

Clean Sweep Hazardous Waste Site is open year-round at the county landfill and operates Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Clean Sweep is closed Sundays, Mondays and Holidays. There is a fee per drop-off. Clean Sweep is located at 7102 US Highway 12 in Madison. More info at danecountycleansweep.com.

Decluttering your home? The Literacy Network is collecting used books to re-sell to raise funds to support its classes and tutors and provide textbooks for free adult literacy programs.. Donated books can be dropped off at the Literacy Network office, 701 Dane Street, preferably between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays. Contact 608-244-3911 for guidelines on the types of materials that can be accepted.
