A course in computer and employment literacy for adults who want to improve their reading, writing and general communication skills kicks-off on Tuesday, January 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Library, 2707 East Washington Street. Each student will have an individual lesson plan created for them and will work through the semester on completing that plan. Skills learned will help with job searching and applications, completing the GED and improving computer skills. Offered through the Literacy Network, the classes will run through May 3rd. Online signups for WORT’s winter pledge drive are now available! The drive runs from Monday, February 26th thru Sunday, March 11th. To help the station and join the fun, sign up directly via the WORT web site at wortfm.org or call 256-2001 during business hours.
