It’s This Weekend’s Action Calendar!
The public is invited to attend a free presentation describing trail and marker trees by Tom Jones, UW Assistant Professor of Photography, Saturday, February 17th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Goodman Library, 2222 South Park Street. Tom will draw on both his professional photographic experience and his heritage as a member of the Ho Chunk Nation to introduce the mysterious marker trees. This presentation is part of an on-going series sponsored by The Ancient Earthworks Society of Wisconsin. The Society works to preserve, research, protect and honor Wisconsin’s prehistoric earthworks and associated landscapes. Phone 266-6395 for information.
All are invited to the Harvest of Hope Winter Farmers Market on Sunday, February 18th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Midvale Lutheran Church, 4329 Tokay Boulevard. Hosted by the Food, Faith and Farming Network, the market includes a farm breakfast and many farmer vendors offering local fair trade products. 10 percent of all proceeds go to support the Harvest of Hope fund that assists Wisconsin family farmers in need.
