It’s today’s Action Calendar!

The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin will offer a free family caregiver education session tonight from 5 to 7:30 p.m at the Hawthorne Library, 2707 East Washington Street. Learn about topics of interest to families of those with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. No registration required. Phone 246-4548 for information.

The public is invited to a meeting of the Oscar Meyer Site Strategic Assessment Committee tonight from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Goodman Library, 2222 South Park Street. Join us for presentations on the possibilities of the redevelopment of the Oscar Meyer property. For information, phone 266-6395.

Learn to stargaze tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at Tenney Park, 1414 East Johnson Street. The UW Space Place will lead the free session that begins just after sunset with a 20 to 30 minute talk. If the sky is clear, you’ll have the opportunity to view astronomical objects through a telescope. All ages welcome. Please pre-register today by calling 266-4711.

A presentation focusing on,“Voices of the Palestinian Resistance”, is scheduled for this evening at 7 p.m. in the UW’s Multicultural Center located in the Red Gym at 716 Langdon Street. The presentation will feature speakers Islam Maraqa, a coordinator of international volunteers from Hebron, and Joe Catron, who spent three years in Gaza and is now U.S. coordinator of Samidoun, the Palestinian prisoners’ solidarity network. The presentation is free and open to the public. Phone 262-4503 for information.
