The Madison Adoption and Permanency Support Program is hosting a QPR suicide prevention workshop for adoptive and guardianship parents, or for any parent who wants to learn more about suicide prevention, this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Goodman South Library, 2222 South Park Street. QPR stands for “Question, Persuade and Refer”… the 3 simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life. Phone 266-6395 for information. The workshop is free.
All are invited to attend 350 Madison’s monthly meeting regarding climate change this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Friends’ Meeting House, 1704 Roberts Court. Representatives from the Madison Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, the Extinction Rebellion and the Youth Climate Action team will be discussing the upcoming Climate Strike on September 20th. 350 Madison is an activist group that meets to share news of involvement in climate change events, and to inform participants about climate change news. The theme for this month’s meeting is “It Will Take All of Us to Turn Things Around”. For information, phone 206-6062.
