Heartland Farm Sanctuary, one of the state’s only shelters dedicated to rescuing farm animals, will hold its sixth annual Thanksgiving for the Turkeys on Saturday, November 19th at 10 a.m. The event will be in Heartland’s barn, 11713 Mid Town Road in Verona. Heartland’s turkey residents will be the guests of honor and enjoy a festive spread of cranberries, pumpkin pie, stuffed squash, and more. After the feast, guests can tour the Heartland barn and learn more about the animals and Heartland’s programming for local children and families. On Saturday, November 19th at 7 p.m., The Madison Youth Intergenerational Choir, composed of high school-aged singers and residents of Capitol Lakes Retirement Community, will present a free performance in the Capitol Lakes Grand Hall, 333 West Main Street. The program will celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s legacy with two musical settings from As You Like It and also feature the works of Praetorius, Franck, Holst, Vivaldi, and recent Nobel Prize winner Bob Dylan.
