The 20th Annual Aldo Leopold Lecture, sponsored by the UW’s Department of Forestry and Wildlife Ecology, is scheduled for today at 3 p.m in Agriculture Hall, 1450 Linden Drive. This year’s lecture, titled “ The Metaphorical Snow Ox: Science and Conservation in an Increasingly Peopled World” will be presented by Dr. Joel Berger, who holds the Cox Chair of Conservation Biology at Colorado State University. A free presentation on “Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia and Brain Health” is scheduled for Thursday, May 4th from noon to 1 p.m. at the Central Library, 201 West Mifflin Street. This is the first in a series of programs being held as part of “’Older Americans Month”.
