Take a free, guided walk with conservationist Brandon Mann this evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Owen Conservation Park, 6021 Old Sauk Road. Learn about the major oak woodland and savanna restoration project underway in the park. Brandon will lead participants through different phases of the project to illustrate how the habitat can be transformed from an overgrown, weed-infested thicket to a diverse natural community providing habitat for a range of plants and wildlife. The West Madison Senior Coalition will offer a free lunch for those 60 and over at noon on Thursday, May 18th, at the Meadowridge Library, 5726 Raymond Road. The suggested minimum donation is $4.00, but not required. Transportation to the meal is available with an additional $1.00 donation. Meal and bus reservations should be made today by calling 608-238-0196.
Volunteers are needed to help with the W-O-R-T block Party on Sunday, May 21st.
