A free public forum titled “Stop the Cardinal-Hickory High Voltage Line-Harnessing Our Local Energy Futures”, will kick off at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 2nd at the Dodger Bowl, 318 King Street in Dodgeville. The forum will address potential threats and policy issues posed by the Cardinal-Hickory Creek transmission line that will run 125 miles from Middleton to Dubuque. Utility myths, energy efficiency, local power and the harmful impacts of transmission expansion will be described during afternoon panel discussions and an evening program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by a Southwestern Wisconsin coalition of six municipal governments in Iowa, Dane, Vernon, and Grant counties, and the non-profit group, Save Our Unique Lands (SOUL) of Wisconsin.
