Join a family friendly Lanterns for Peace event to commemorate the lives lost in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings tonight at 6 p.m. at the Tenney Park Shelter, 1414 East Johnson Street. Decorate paper lanterns with messages for peace and wishes for a nuclear weapon-free future. The illuminated lanterns will be floated at dusk. Phone 577-1721 for information.
The Dane County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance is holding various trail building events from Wednesday, August 8th through Sunday, August 12th. They could use your help constructing a new mile of tread, signage and stonework. It’s the 60th anniversary celebration of the trail! Register to help at iceagetrail.org/volunteer.
