Free “Training for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events” will be provided by the Madison Police Department tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Madison Police Training Center, 5702 Femrite Drive.It’s unfortunate that violence perpetrated by an individual bent on killing innocent people is a reality in American communities. The good news is the likelihood of finding yourself under fire by an active shooter is roughly equivalent to being struck by lightning. There are simple things you can do to respond.
One-on-one training for Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Publish and others will be offered from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th at the Alicia Ashman Library, Whether you want to tweak your resume, print a dazzling newsletter, write a simple letter or a book, this is the class for you. All skill levels welcome, but pre-registration is required. Call 608-284-1780 to complete your registration.
The Parental Stress line helps prevent child abuse by connecting parents who are stressed or feeling alone with volunteers who talk with them by phone. Training is necessary. Call 608-241-4888 for details.
